Power tools for building in tulip.co
Tulbelt
Browser extensions that make Tulip's web editor easier to work in. Tulbelt is a free tray
of small fixes. Tulbelt Plus adds three builders with an AI assistant: dashboards, custom
widgets and app documentation.
Tulbelt Free
A dependency-free, no-build-step Manifest V3 extension. The toolbar popup is a tray of
switches; each switch is a self-contained tweak to the Tulip web UI. Flip what you want,
leave the rest off, and everything reverts cleanly when you switch it back.
Sort tables by newest. Add Copy / Cut to the widget context menu. Replace the JSON box
for connector filters with a row-per-filter builder. Turn on dark mode. Hide the
deprecated tiles. Make formula-editor autocomplete a substring match instead of
starts-with. None of it is revolutionary on its own; the point is that all of it lives
behind a single switch, in a single popup, on every *.tulip.co page.
It has no telemetry, no account and no network calls of its own. The authoritative
feature list is
features.js
in the repository; the popup renders it directly. Tulbelt is MIT-licensed and open
source on GitHub.
Tulbelt Plus
Everything in Tulbelt, plus three builder pages that open from a
Tulbelt + link in Tulip's top navbar. Each has an AI assistant that
uses your own key for OpenRouter, OpenAI or Anthropic, or a private server you point it
at.
Dashboards +
Build dashboards for your Tulip tables by describing them to the assistant, view
them full size, and build filtered, optionally cached datasets for them to read. The
assistant writes the dashboard's code from your table and field names; your records
go straight from Tulip to your browser and are never sent to the AI.
WidgetLab +
Design, build, test and deploy Tulip custom widgets with the assistant. Widgets run
in a sandboxed preview that reads and writes your tables through your own session,
and a finished widget copies straight into Tulip's app editor. Projects are saved in
a home table everyone on the instance can open.
Tultalk +
Turn Tulip app exports into documentation of every step, trigger, step flow and data
model, and how the apps connect. Keep notes and plans beside it, and ask the
assistant about the apps. Projects are saved in the home table, so everyone on the
instance sees the same docs and notes.
Three editions
Tulbelt Plus comes as three extensions. They share the same license and data.
| Edition |
What's in it |
| Tulbelt Plus |
Every Tulbelt toggle, the popup, and all three builders. |
| Tulbelt Plus (Builders Only) |
Dashboards +, WidgetLab + and Tultalk +, always on. No toggles and no popup; the
toolbar icon opens the settings.
|
| Tulbelt Plus (Dashboards+ Only) |
Dashboards + alone, always on. |

-
The assistants get your chat, the code being worked on and table and field names.
